Before you start
Wash your hands thoroughly and gather your supplies: your medication, an alcohol swab, a syringe, and a sharps container.
Step by step
- Check the label — confirm the medication, dose and expiration date.
- Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
- Draw up the prescribed number of units as directed by your provider.
- Inject at a 45–90° angle, as shown in the video above.
- Dispose of the syringe in your sharps container.
